Six bottles, four times a year, from growers we've actually met.

Tannin is a small natural-wine club. We work with twenty-three growers across France, Italy, and Portugal — visit each one twice a year, and ship six bottles every quarter with a long letter from the cellar.

The current cellar

Bottles in rotation, this month.

Every bottle is poured by us, written up by us, and shipped by us. We don't pad the case with placeholders — if a grower's barrel doesn't taste right, we leave the slot empty.

In the glass

Three nights, three reasons we drink this.

A house wine isn't a brand decision. It's something you reach for after work, on a long Sunday, on the night the in-laws come over.

Tuesday, late

After work, before dinner.

The Quinta Lourenço Branco is what we open when nothing's planned. Eleven percent, lemon-pith, and good cold from the door of the fridge. It doesn't ask anything of you.

Sunday, slow

On a long Sunday lunch.

Cabernet Franc and lentils. The Rouchet '23 holds up against everything braised, and the second day in the bottle is better than the first. Two bottles for four people, every time.

March, friends

Across three winters.

The Cantina di Maja Rosso has been on our table for three years running. It changes — chestnut barrel, foot-trodden, sometimes wilder than last — but it's always the bottle we hand a stranger.

Tannin vs. the supermarket aisle.

Most wine on a US shelf passes through three importers, two distributors, and a corrective additive list. We cut all of that.

From the cellar door

"The Hervé pet-nat ruined every other sparkling wine for me. The note card from the grower made it feel like a letter, not a delivery."
